In the mid-1990's, Rita Leone, a single mom and pregnancy volunteer had a vision to open a pregnancy center in the Washington township area and approached her parents for help in getting it started. Both Guy and Jill Leone had an existing accounting practice in Turnersville and had strong Christian ties in the community. Together their collaboration of prayer, finances, and strong business savvy brought to existence The Haven Crisis Pregnancy Center.
1996 - Incorporated as a 501c3, Rita as acting Executive Director
1998 - Merged with Compassion in Clayton Pregnancy Center, changed name to Choices of the Heart
1999 - Partnered with Dr. Alan Manus, off-site ultrasound services began
2000 - Educational programs began
2001 - Additional satellite office at Echelon Mall in Voorhees, partnered with Echelon Mall ministry
2005 - Merged with New Life Pregnancy Center in Burlington, NJ
2006 - Took receipt of ultrasound machine from Focus on the Family
2007 - Developed relationship with Regional Women's Health and Medical
2008 - Opened Burlington Mall office - the nation's first pregnancy center operating inside a shopping mall with ultrasound
and an on-site physician
2009 - Lifepoint Radio Ministry begins - 1 minute public service announcements about life
2011 - Opened Choices Thrift Shoppe, new sexual integrity and purity programs implemented (EQUIP, PG13, iChoose, iParent, iFollow,
Dad's the Man and Destination Choice (mobile ultrasound unit)
2013 - Renamed Choices of the Heart to Choices of the Heart Network to act as an umbrella for the Choices Pregnancy Center, Equip, iChoose,
Dad's the Man, Destination Choice (mobile ultrasound unit), HEART and finally, our Choices Thrift Shoppe.
2014 - Choices of the Heart Network moves to a new location on 108 Greentree Road. Providing more space and a professional
medical atmosphere and care for the clients. Thus allowing the Choices Thrift Shoppe to take over the old location of
Choices of the Heart, and renaming it the Choices Thrift Boutique.
